TUFNELL PARK

London

Refurbishment of a unique detached 1860-70s Victorian house in North London.

  • Maintaining the qualities of the house as much as possible was part of the brief, while adding a new contemporary layer to its history. The main objective was to bring back the original qualities of the original house while modernising. In its recent history the building was divided into several flats. We brought the house back as a single family home as it once was. We were lucky in that a substantial number of original features remained intact. To this we added other materials and finishes for an an eclectic approach balancing new and reclaimed.

ADAPTING LINES + SURFACES

Throughout the project we sought to respond to the existing forms, surfaces and lines with new one’s that both compliment what is already there while introducing something new.
